Everton are set to tie up a deal with Swiss outfit Grasshopper Zurich for Shani Tarashaj, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The move is set to be completed on Wednesday, with the 20-year-old forward agreeing terms on a four-and-a-half year contract.

The fee is believed to be in the region of £3.5million and Tarashaj will be loaned back to his current club for the remainder of the campaign.

The young attacker, who has 8 goals in 18 appearances this season, underwent a medical on Monday and has agreed terms with the Blues and will add to the bourgeoning young talent already at Goodison Park.

Tarashaj has represented Switzerland at U-21 level and will be Everton’s second signing of the January transfer window, after Bury’s Matty Foulds officially joined the Blues earlier this month.

Everton are also interested in Leeds United defender Sam Byram, but they may wait until the summer to tie up a deal for the talented right-back.
