Everton target Braga coach Paulo Fonseca
Braga manager Paulo Fonseca has emerged as a target for Everton, according to ESPN.
The report claims that Everton officials travelled to Portugal to watch the Portuguese Cup final, in which Braga beat Porto on penalties to take home the trophy.
The Blues have a shortlist of managers including Manuel Pellegrini, Unai Emery, Frank De Boer, David Moyes and Ronald Koeman with Fonseca the newest addition to an ever-growing list of coaches linked to the vacant hot-seat at Goodison Park.
Under Fonseca’s guidance, Braga were able to finish fourth in the Liga NOS this season as well as making it to the Europa League Quarterfinals but were knocked out by Shakhtar Donetsk.
Should the Portuguese manager be in the running for the Everton job, the club will look to interview all candidates over the next few weeks prior to Euro 2016 and ensure whoever gets the job has the required time to rebuild the team.
With up to ten players looking set to leave Goodison Park, it will certainly be a busy summer and will require Everton’s new manager to be in charge as soon as possible.
