Everton line up shock deal for Sneijder
Everton are lining up a cut-price deal for former Real Madrid and Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder, according to reports.
The Holland international currently plies his trade in Turkey with Galatasaray after moving to the country in 2013. Sneijder has become a house hold name in football over the years, having an impact on some of the biggest clubs in world football such as Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Ajax.
The midfielder worked under Ronald Koeman at Ajax so a reunion could appeal to the playmaker, though a reunion with Jose Mourinho could also be on the cards as Manchester United are said to be interested.
Since moving to Turkey in 2013, Sneijder has continued his fine form with 40 goals and 27 assists, very much an impressive return for a midfielder. The club are also linked with Manchester United’s Juan Mata, which would draw assumptions that Koeman would like to bring in a creative midfielder.
Georginio Wijnaldum has also been linked with the club, while holding midfielder such as Axel Witsel and Kevin Strootman has also been mentioned.
