Everton place £75million price tag on Lukaku
Everton have slapped an enormous £75million price tag on forward Romelu Lukaku, according to the Express.
The club’s hierarchy are hoping to price the Belgian goalscorer out of a move as they look to keep their most valuable players. Lukaku has been one of Everton’s best players this season, only just losing out to Gareth Barry for the player of the season award.
With questions over his future, the striker added fuel to the flames as he admitted he would look to leave the club after the European Championships.
In recent days, Lukaku and his camp have seemingly backtracked on their initial desire to leave the club. Agent Mino Raiola admitted this week that “something’s changed at Everton. There’s a new project.”
Farhad Moshiri is now set to offer Lukaku a bumper deal, thought to be around £100,000 a week.
The club are attempting to keep their star players such as Lukaku and defender John Stones, with the club looking to invest heavily into the playing staff this summer. New Blues boss Ronald Koeman has already stressed that to succeed you cannot sell your best players, admitting he will attempt to keep them at Goodison.
Though, in the case of John Stones, the club have accepted they may have to sell the talented defender after blocking his move to Chelsea last season.
