Everton in talks over Yacine Brahimi
According to Sky Sports, Everton are in advanced talks with the Portuguese club Porto over a move for highly-rated winger Yacine Brahimi.
However, it appears talks may encounter a stumbling block as the Algerian International would prefer a move to a Champions League club, and he has already rejected a mega-money move to China in recent weeks in favour of staying in Europe.
The Algerian winger has been struggling in recent months as he had a case of second-season syndrome in Portugal, after a blistering first campaign. He has been left out of Porto’s Champions League squad also.
Everton, who seem to be finally waking up in the transfer window, have signed four senior players so far – Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie. Ronald Koeman wants to make the tricky winger his 5th signing as Everton boss, with links to Joe Hart and Lamine Kone ever present in recent days.
There is no clear indication of the price it would take for Porto to let their man leave the club, but Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the winger at a massive £40m, so that could be an indication.
After a quiet month after the appointment of Koeman, it looks as though Everton could have a very busy week ahead.
