Kone wanted by both Crystal Palace and Swansea
Everton have really peaked and troughed this season under Ronald Koeman.
However, of late the form has picked up with three wins in their last four Premier League games, which is largely down to the improved play of Everton’s attacking stars.
This has meant that Arouna Kone has been frozen out of the first-team picture as a result and his future at Goodison Park looks bleak.
Kone is reportedly a player Crystal Palace are targeting for a cut-price fee this month, but they face competition from Swansea according to French source Football.fr.
The 33-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of the season and it’s apparent that Ronald Koeman does not envisage the Ivorian has part of his long-term plans with Everton.
Kone has made just three Premier League appearances this season, all from the bench and he’s not even featured in a league matchday squad since early September.
He’s also dealt with knee injuries in his past, undergoing three major operations in his time, the most recent in October 2013 which forced him to 399 days of action and 52 games for Everton before making his return in November 2014.
Kone has been in English football now for nearly five years, scoring 23 goals in 97 appearances during spells with Everton and Wigan.
