Everton make approach for Bacary Sagna
The contract of Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna expires at the end of the season and as such, he is free to explore other options. According to Le10 Sport, via Sport Witness, Everton and West Ham have both made initial approaches to his representatives.
Sagna, who turns 34 years old on Valentine’s Day, looks set for an exit from the Etihad Stadium and it appears that both Slaven Bilic and Ronald Koeman could be interested in bringing him in on a short-term deal.
Everton have Seamus Coleman as their obvious starter at right-back so Sagna would be more likely to play regular football at West Ham, although a move to Everton would allow him to continue to live in the North West if that is something which is important to him.
Right back has been a problem position for West Ham all season and Sagna could be a good stopgap option for the Hammers whilst they either develop one of their younger players or look elsewhere for a long-term replacement.
