Manchester United attacker Wayne Rooney is reportedly giving a return to Everton serious thought.
According to a report from Dean Jones of Bleacher Report, the United captain is very much a target for the Toffees this summer and they’re looking to make progress on a potential deal for the England international as soon as possible.
Twitter: Everton want talks soon about possibility of signing Wayne Rooney
Rooney has fallen massively out of favour at Old Trafford and is featuring mainly as a substitute under Jose Mourinho. This comes after the emergence of star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic this season, along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan bursting onto the scene in behind the striker.
Speculation has been constant regarding Rooney and a potential move back to Goodison Park this summer but it looks as though Everton are seriously keen on making their move.
The report states that Rooney likes the idea of being a two-club man and the prospect of a return to Everton is attractive for him.
