Everton enquire about signing Baba Rahman on loan
Ronald Koeman will be looking to overhaul his Everton squad in the summer with the primary target being bringing in some younger talent into his ageing squad to cement themselves as a top-six contender in the years to come.
Having sold Bryan Oviedo to Sunderland in January, Everton left themselves very short of left-back cover behind Leighton Baines but the club are eager to rectify this in the summer.
The Daily Mail report that the Toffees have made contact with Chelsea about taking Baba Rahman on loan next season providing he recovers from his knee injury.
Rahman joined Chelsea in a £17m deal from Augsburg back in August 2015 but failed to impress in his 23 appearances for the Blues and returned to the Bundesliga on loan with Schalke for the 2016/17 season.
After a hot start to life back in German football, the Ghanaian left-back suffered a meniscus injury in December which ended his season.
Chelsea still believe that the 22-year-old has what it takes to be a Premier League regular for them but will look to loan him out again next season to get him some minutes under his belt before returning to Stamford Bridge in 2018.
AC Milan are also keen on taking him on loan but it’s claimed that Schalke are leading the race.
