Spurs cool their interest in Everton’s Ross Barkley
Tottenham appear to have cooled their interest in Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to the Mirror.
Spurs are weighing up their options this summer after being linked with the England international for some time.
Tottenham are cautious about making a move following the development of Dele Alli, who plays in a very similar position as Barkley.
Everton have recently completed a deal to sign Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen for just under £24 million.
The Dutchman’s arrival appeared to spell the end of Barkley’s time at Goodison Park, but this is another twist with the player’s still uncertain.
Arsenal and Manchester United had been linked with moves for the player in the past but Spurs were leading the race to sign him.
After struggling to hold down a place in the England senior squad, Barkley will be wary about where he makes his next move, with the World Cup just around the corner.
