Niang holds out for Arsenal over Everton

Despite Everton having already agreed a transfer fee with AC Milan for winger M’Baye Niang, the Frenchman would rather wait for Arsenal, according to Calciomercato.

Calciomercato exclusively reported several weeks ago that Milan had agreed a €15million (£13.2million) deal with the Toffees that would take Niang to Merseyside, but he would rather wait for a bigger club, presumably one who plays in the Champions League.

Niang joined Watford on loan in January and scored and assisted twice before the end of the season, then elected to return to Milan instead of remaining with the Hornets after Walter Mazzarri was relieved of his duties.

Now, despite being informed by Milan coach Vincenzo Montella that the 22-year old does not feature in his plans for next season, Niang would rather wait for Arsenal to make a move, as he isn’t completely sold on Everton’s offer.

It’s believed that the ball rests in Niang’s court, and it is up to him whether he will turn out at Goodison Park in royal blue next season.

Milan are eager to push the deal forward quickly as they look to offload players that will not feature next season and recuperate some money, having already signed four players this summer.
