Everton are reportedly keen to beat Swansea City to the signing of Las Palmas winger Jonathan Viera.
According to a report from Marca today, the Toffees are expressing a keen interest in landing the wide man this summer after he impressed last season under Quique Setien.
It’s stated by Marca that Everton are prepared to pay the full extent of Viera’s €30m release clause in his contract with Las Palmas, as they aim to continue their summer spending.
Swansea appeared to be front runners in the race to sign the 27-year-old this summer, but it appears as though Everton have cemented themselves as genuine contenders for Viera’s signature.
Paul Clement’s men had a bid worth around €25m declined by the La Liga outfit, who are understandably keen to retain one of their key players ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
However, if Everton have indeed made the offer worth €30m for Viera, there is little Las Palmas can do to prevent Viera talking to Ronald Koeman about a move.
