Everton goalkeeper Robles pursued by Spanish side Deportivo
Spanish La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna have made Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles one of their main targets this summer as Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is ready to allow the shot-stopper to leave Goodison Park, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Everton have signed young English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m earlier in the summer which has put doubt over whether Robles will get any game time in the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old is wanted by Deportivo, who are willing to do whatever it takes to lure the goalkeeper back to his home country, either on loan or a permanent deal.
Robles ended last season as Everton’s number one goalkeeper as he fought for the starting spot with Dutch keeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
Robles is under contract with the Merseyside club until next summer and with only a year remaining, it looks like Everton would rather cash in on him now than to see him leave the club on a free transfer in a year.
Robles made 20 appearances last season in the Premier League and kept an impressive 10 clean sheets during the process.
Deportivo will also not have to splash the cash to land Robles as he is available for a bargain price as Koeman looks to clear out the unwanted players from his new-look squad.
