Everton closing in on £1.35m signing
Everton will reportedly clinch a deal to sign goalkeeper Eloy Room from Vitesse Arnhem for £1.35 million.
Dutch website Soccer News, as cited on Sport Witness, claim that the player is close to becoming Everton’s third-choice goalkeeper.
Despite signing Jordan Pickford from Sunderland earlier in the window, Everton remain in the market for another shot-stopper with Joel Robles looking set to leave for Spain as Deportivo La Coruna eye a move for the former Wigan man.
Ronald Koeman is said to be keen on signing on the 28-year-old who has three-years remaining on his current contract with Vitesse.
Room was a mainstay in Vitesse’s side last season, making 33 league appearances in what was a history-making campaign for the club.
For the first time in their history, they won their first major trophy, lifting the KNVB Cup.
Despite featuring for the Netherlands’ U20s, Room is a Curaçao international and has 16 caps to his name.
