The Iceland international is evidently a big target for Ronald Koeman this summer, with Everton ready to smash their club-record transfer fee to land him.
However, Swansea are standing strong on their £50m valuation of Sigurdsson, with them keen to keep hold of their key player ahead of the upcoming 2017/18 campaign.
Everton initially made an offer of around £30m, and were told to revise their offer by the Swans. A bid of £40m up front, along with £5m in add-ons, was reportedly lodged today, but that too has been turned down by Paul Clement’s side.
Sigurdsson is understood to be keen on a move to Goodison Park this summer, but Everton will need to cough up a colossal fee of £50m to sign him, by the looks of things.
