Everton to back Koeman to turn poor start around
Everton will back Ronald Koeman to turn around the club’s poor start to the season, as per The Telegraph.
Pressure had been mounting on the former Southampton manager, after the Toffees lost their last four games in all competitions, conceding 12 goals along the way.
Everton spent £140 million over the summer that has seen Koeman overhauled the squad, which has been taken into consideration when deciding the Dutchman’s future.
Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri wanted Koeman to build a squad that was capable competing for a place in the top six this season, despite Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, claiming that Everton should be finishing inside the top four.
Despite all the money spent over the summer, the club were unable to replace Romelu Lukaku, who joined United during the transfer window.
The report states that Everton will look to sign a striker in January, something that will undoubtedly be needed if the club are hoping to finish inside the top six.
