Everton sent scouts to Udinese’s 3-1 loss to Roma in Serie A on Saturday afternoon, to scout young midfielder Jakub Jankto; and Juventus are also interested in the Czech international.

Jankto, 21, is a 6-foot tall central midfielder who specialises in strong hold up play and has a fantastic eye for a pass, as well as being a strong set-piece taker.

The Czech centre-mid joined Udinese from SK Slavia Prague’s youth academy in 2014 and made his debut for the Italian side last season, after spending the 2015-16 season on loan at Serie B side Ascoli, for whom he made 34 appearances and scored twice.

Jankto has made five starts for Udinese so far this season, providing one goal and one assist from midfield, however his side are currently 17th in Serie A with just three points in six games — earned by Jankto himself as he scored the only goal in a home win over Genoa earlier this month.

He has made four appearances for his country, scoring one goal, which came as his side’s second in a 3-0 friendly win over Lithuania.
