Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has confirmed that he is still ‘some way’ off completing his recovery following a serious knee injury.

As reported by Sky Sports, Bolasie told Everton TV that he is delighted to be edging closer to his return to first-team action.

I’m just happy to be back out there and moving about the way I can. I’m getting stronger by the day and I’m looking forward to coming back. There’s still a while to go but I’m happy with where I’m at. At this stage, I couldn’t ask to be in a better place and everything just seems like it’s clicking into place.

The former Crystal Palace man has returned to training and has been done some light ball work before being thrust back into the first-team training sessions.

Bolasie suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury back in December following a big-money move to Goodison Park but has been sidelined ever since.

The loss of both Bolasie and Romelu Lukaku over the summer has hindered Everton’s start to the season with the side lacking any real pace in attack.
