Everton monitor Wolves teenage fullback Ruben Vinagre
Premier League side Everton are keeping tabs on Wolverhampton Wanderers fullback Ruben Vinagre, who is on loan from French Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco, as they look to provide some competition for the ageing Leighton Baines, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Vinagre has been in impressive form this season and has been the subject of interest from various Premier league clubs, with Everton said to be the most serious.
Vinagre was mostly brought in to cover for fellow new signing Barry Douglas at left wing-back, but instead he has started six Championship games this season after putting in some wonderful performances.
The 18-year-old Portuguese is criticised for being a bit light physically but has shown good technique and prowess going forward. He managed to find the back of the net in the 4-0 win over Burton Albion last month.
Wolves will be hoping that Vinagre has enjoyed his time at Molineux enough to snub Premier League interest from Everton and stay with Nuno Espirito Santo, especially with Wolves aiming for promotion to the top flight this season.
Everton left-back Baines is approaching his 33rd birthday and manager Ronald Koeman is keen to give him some competition for his position in the side after left-back Brendan Galloway joined Sunderland on loan.
