Everton are reportedly interested in signing Watford striker Troy Deeney.
It’s claimed by the Mirror that Sam Allardyce has identified some targets ahead of the January transfer window, with Deeney one man under consideration.
The Hornets striker has been used somewhat sporadically by Marco Silva at Watford this season but remains a key figure at the club, as their captain and one of their most consistent players.
However, Allardyce is seemingly hopeful that he can lure him away from Vicarage Road as he aims to bolster his attacking reinforcements.
Everton have failed to replace Romelu Lukaku following his summer move to Manchester United. The Toffees aimed to sign a top striker to plug the hole left by Lukaku but only signed Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney as their forward options.
This has left the Toffees rather toothless up front and it seems a new striker is at the top of Allardyce’s wish list for January. This striker is Deeney if the Mirror are to be believed.
