Everton’s Yannick Bolasie eyeing first-team comeback in January
Everton forward Yannick Bolasie has been out injured for over a year but he is close to returning to first team action and he is targeting January as the time when he’ll be back in Premier League action.
The 28-year-old featured from the bench for the club’s under 23 side earlier today as he played the final half hour against Leicester City.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
Playing again was overwhelming. When I got on, I felt good. I knew about two weeks ago I was going to play in this game so it’s good.
Bolasie is targeting a return in the new year as he hopes to get back into the team and become a regular starter under new boss Sam Allardyce and it looks like he can’t wait to get back into first-team action once again.
I want to be with the [first team] boys. Right now, the team is doing really well so you’re going to have to try to fight your way in but there’s no rush for myself. I know what my role is because a year out in football means it will be a month or two before I’m really back at it but the main thing is that I feel okay.
