Klaassen keen to fight for his place at Everton
Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen wants to fight for his place at the club, according to his agent.
Søren Lerby, who represents the Netherlands international, spoke to Dutch news source AD regarding his client’s future and insisted that he is keen to fight for his chance to impress on Merseyside.
As quoted by Football Oranje, Lerby had this to say about Klaassen’s ongoing predicament at Everton.
Of course Davy is not satisfied with his role. But he wants to fight for his chance.
Signed in the summer for a fee in the region of £25 million from Ajax, the creative midfielder has been nothing short of a disappointment in an Everton shirt. Expectations were high for Klaassen but he has flattered to deceive so far.
Recent reports have claimed that the Toffees could be willing to cut their losses with Klaassen this month, with the January transfer window already well underway.
However, if the Dutchman gets his wishes, he will remain at the club and battle to impress Sam Allardyce as he looks to force his way into the manager’s first-team plans.
