Newcastle are latest club considering move for Lennon
Everton winger Aaron Lennon looks set to leave Merseyside this month, and Newcastle United are considering making a move, according to ESPN.
With the recent signing of Theo Walcott, and the return from injury of Yannick Bolasie, Lennon has dropped down the Toffees’ pecking order, with young duo Ademola Lookman and Nikola Vlašić also vying for game time.
The former Tottenham man has been in and out of Everton’s team this season, and throughout his time with the club, making just nine starts from 15 Premier League appearances.
Several Premier Leaguer clubs are believed to be monitoring Lennon’s situation, as well as his hometown club Leeds United. Lennon’s contract expires in the summer, which could see him leave Goodison Park this month for a cut-price deal.
Since signing for Everton on an initial loan deal in February 2015, Lennon has gone on to score nine goals in 77 appearances in all competitions.
