Everton consider move for Atalanta star
Everton are considering a summer move for Atalanta attacking midfielder Josip Iličić, according to Calciomercato.
Everton were reportedly interested in Iličić back in the summer, before his move from Fiorentina, when scout Carlo Jacomuzzi revealed the club were considering a number of targets across Serie A’s top clubs. However, ultimately nothing came of the talks with Fiorentina’s director of football, Pantaleo Corvino.
Subsequently he moved to Bergamo to join La Dea, and would go on to play against Everton in the Europa League, where the Toffees lost 3-0 in Reggio Emilia and 5-1 on Merseyside.
With 11 goals and eight assists in 31 games this season, Iličić hasn’t been forgotten by Everton’s director of football Steve Walsh, who is supposedly keen on returning with an offer this summer.
Everton are in need of new additions in the summer as they look to overhaul their squad, with a number of players expected to depart.
