Everton boosted in pursuit of Napoli man
Everton are said to have expressed an interest in Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara, with the player’s agent revealing that more than one Premier League side has made a proposal to land the youngster.
Diawara has been tipped for big things following some impressive performances in Italy over the last couple of seasons. However, his game-time has been limited this season and a move away from Naples could yet be on the cards.
Speaking to the Italian media, via talkSPORT, Diawara’s agent delivered an update on the player’s future.
There are some Premier League clubs interested, but it’s premature to talk about this. It’s not easy to find the right tempo in a match situation if you only play every couple of months, especially considering his role in midfield.
The 20-year-old has made only three starts for Napoli in the league this season, which has only further increased the scrutiny that already clouds his future at the Stadio San Paolo.
As soon as he gets to play more consistently, we’ll see the same world class player as last season.
Everton are already well-stocked with midfielders and their pursuit of Diawara seems somewhat unlikely. However, the impressive youngster is an extremely talented player and is set to be courted by a number of clubs.
Tottenham Hotspur are also touted as a potential destination for the ex-Bologna man.
