Cenk Tosun is beginning to show exactly why Everton splashed the cash on him, according to manager Sam Allardyce.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Allardyce praised the striker who netted in his second consecutive game during Everton’s 2-0 win over Brighton.
Tosun struck with 15 minutes remaining as he gave his side a 2-0 lead after an amazing piece of work from the returning Leighton Baines down the left.
The January signing had previously struggled to make an impact at the club following his arrival from Besiktas but added to his opening goal at Burnley yesterday.
Tosun’s overall play has been much better in recent weeks and he will be looking to continue this form to help the club reach the top 10 in the league with European football now looking well out of reach.
The Toffees boss spoke about the January signing following yesterday’s match.
And the second goal is why we bought the lad from Turkey, why we brought Cenk into the club. That’s two in two now and we saw the type of finish he delivered for us at the right time because going into the final stage of the game just 1-0 up can be nervous.
