Everton target Oğuzhan Özyakup’s agent Kees Vos has reportedly confirmed to the Beşiktaş board that the Toffees are interested in signing his client, according to Turkish sources.
Sporx, as reported by Sport Witness, claim that Vos was in Instanbul last week to meet with Beşiktaş board members Umut Guner and Safak Mahmutyazicioglu to discuss the future of the Turkey international.
The Turkish outfit’s captain has yet to pen a new deal with the club, and has been frequently linked with a host of clubs around Europe.
According to Sporx, Vos asked the Beşiktaş to decide on his clients future sooner rather than later, saying;
I can confirm that Marseille, Everton, AC Milan, Lazio and Valencia are all showing an interest for Oğuzhan.
We also have offers inside the Turkish Super Lig but he wants to agree with you first. So please decide what you are going to do in the next couple of weeks, and we’ll act accordingly.
Özyakup is out of contract at the end of the season, and claims have recently resurfaced regarding Everton’s interest.
With Morgan Schneiderlin’s future on Merseyside seemingly up in the air, the 25-year old Turk could be seen as an adequate replacement.
Özyakup is also reportedly keen on returning to England, having came through Arsenal’s academy. Özyakup would once again link up with former teammate Cenk Tosun if he did put pen to paper at USM Finch Farm.
