Everton to make move for Mariano Diaz
Everton are reportedly interested in signing striker from Olympique Lyonnais, Mariano Diaz, according to Calcio Mercato.
It is believed that West Ham, who are preparing to give former Everton manager David Moyes a contract extension and make him in charge of transfers, are also interested in Diaz.
The number nine has scored 18 goals this season and has a contract in France which keeps him on the other side of the Channel until 2022. This means that his evaluation may be about £30m which Everton will have to pay for his services in the summer.
He is also a former Real Madrid player, growing up in the youth system of Los Blancos but receiving a serious lack of action under Zinedine Zidane and so left the Spanish capital for the south coast of France last summer.
However, his impressive performances could see him leave to south coast of France for Merseyside or East London.
He has been a crucial part of Olympique Lyonnais sitting third in Ligue 1 and looking to qualify for the Champions League next season.
He is the league’s third top scorer in his debut season in France, behind only PSG stars Edinson Cavani and Neymar. This is an exciting name to be linked with Everton and if the Toffees did grab him, it could be exciting times at Goodison Park.
