Everton are ready to meet the wage demands of Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, beating Newcastle to his signature, according to reports from Turkish media outlet Fanatik.
The report suggests that Everton are readying an offer for the in-form Ozyakup, with the player demanding €2.5 million a season.
Besiktas had been keen to keep the player but they were unable to agree on a new contract for the 25-year-old last month, boosting Everton’s hopes of completing a deal for the player who would join on a free transfer.
Previous reports have already suggested that Everton had been in talks with the agent of the former Arsenal midfielder over a possible move back to Premier League this summer.
Fellow Premier League rivals Newcastle United and West Ham United are also interested in the player, who is thought to be keen on a return to England after failing to make the grade with Arsenal.
