Wayne Rooney has agreed a deal to join MLS side DC United after just one season back at his boyhood club, Everton.
According to BBC Sport, the deal is set to be around £12.5 million and the player’s representatives have already been over to the United States to negotiate the move.
Although the deal has been agreed in principle, nothing has been signed so Rooney may decide to stay, especially if Sam Allardyce is shown the door this summer.

Rooney is said to be annoyed at his role at the club and may be one of the reasons he is willing to move to the states.
Sam Allardyce had this to say about Rooney’s rumoured frustration:
It would have to be massive for him to want to leave Everton. I’ve not had a problem from day one with Wayne (but) the Wayne Rooney saga continues on doesn’t it?
The transfer window doesn’t open until July over in the US so the England and Manchester United’s all-time top scorer still has time to decide on where he wants to play his football next year.
