Everton are trying to sign Sheffield Wednesday starlet George Hirst, report the Liverpool Echo.
The 19-year-old is out of contract this summer and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.
Everton are trying to replace David Henen as the Belgian forward is leaving the club after three years on Merseyside. The 22-year-old failed to make an appearance in his time and has been told he won’t be staying.

Signing Hirst will cost the Toffees a compensatory fee, as he is under 23 and was offered an extension at Hillsborough, which he rejected.
The Englishman is tipped to reach the top of English football, and he showcased his talents at last year’s Toulon Tournament, scoring four goals as England went on to win the final on penalties.
He is yet to make an impact with the Owls and they have refused to include him in the first team due to him deciding he doesn’t have a future there.
Everton will face competition for the striker with Manchester United and Leicester also extremely interested in him.
