Everton are plotting a transfer bid for Jamaal Lascelles in the summer, according to the Mirror.
Manager Sam Allardyce wants to bolster his defence as his side have conceded the most goals of any side in the top half this season.
The defender has had a superb season at Newcastle and it is expected that Rafa Benitez will struggle to hold on to his captain.

His performances since the Spaniard arrived at St James’ Park warranted a five-year contract extension back in October, tying him down there until 2023.
That means any bid for him will have to be exceptional, and Everton are apparently willing to offer around the same amount as they did for Michael Keane.
The Toffees will face heavy competition for the 24-year-old with Chelsea and Tottenham also interested. He would struggle to get starts at both of those clubs so Everton will hope that will sway him to want a move to Merseyside.
Lascelles has played 98 times for the Magpies since signing from Nottingham Forest in 2014 and has helped them keep eight clean sheets this season.
