Martinez on shortlist for Inter Milan job
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been placed on a list of managers to be considered for the Inter Milan job, should Roberto Mancini and his team fail to qualify for the Champions League.
According to reports, Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid is their number one priority should Mancini be sacked, but explain that Martinez and Ajax manager Frank de Boer are both to be considered should the club not be able to persuade Simeone to leave the city of Madrid.
Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir is now in charge of Inter, and with a return to Champions League top of his agenda, it looks it is make or break for former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini who play third-placed Fiorentina.
With pressure mounting on Roberto Martinez over the Christmas period it was thought that the Catalonian could leave Everton at the end of the season, but with two wins in two and convincing wins at that the Blues may be able to put a strong late season push for European football together.
Should Inter come calling for Martinez, the club will have a hard decision to make with many poor performances this season leading many to believe that the manager is not the right one to take the club forward.
