Everton are targeting Gylfi Sigurdsson as their next big money signing this summer, according to Dean Jones of Bleacher Report.

Everton have previously been linked with the Icelandic attacker, having registered an interest both in the summer and in the most recent January transfer window.

Recent signings Morgan Schneiderlin, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie have shown the intent of the club to recruit established Premier League talent, and Sigurdsson would be a valuable addition to challenge and push Ross Barkley.

According to Dean Jones, a fee of between £20million and £25million could persuade Swansea City to part with the player. With the Everton project continuing to grow under Ronald Koeman and with European competition a real possibility next season, the player might feel that the time is right to leave Wales.

Sigurdsson has weighed in with nine goals and 10 assists for the Swans this season. Sigurdsson joined Swansea in 2014, having spent two years with Tottenham. He had previously played for Swansea on a six-month loan deal in 2012.
