Everton reportedly willing to double Silva’s wages
Everton are reportedly attempting to lure Marco Silva to Goodison Park with a lucrative financial package.
The Independent reports that the Toffees would be willing to double what the 40-year-old earns at Watford at the moment. Along with this, promises would be made to Silva that he would be able to have a sizable transfer kitty ahead of the January window.
Watford are determined to keep hold of Silva, who joined them only in the summer. Having performed well since his move, it looks as though Everton have lined him up as one of their primary managerial targets.
It’s stated in the report that Silva is understood to be keen on honouring his contract at Watford, but also hugely tempted by Everton’s proposition.
Everton are 15th in the Premier League following a dismal start to the season, with David Unsworth currently in caretaker charge at the club.
The Toffees are said to be confident of securing Silva’s services.
