Everton are ready to rival Manchester City and Arsenal for the signature of Jonny Evans in January, according to ESPN.

Sam Allardyce is reportedly keen to sign the ex-Manchester United man as he looks set to strengthen during the January window.

The new Toffees manager is expected to bring in a number of fresh faces to help guide Everton away from the relegation zone.

Evans’ immediate future at West Brom has once again been thrown into doubt after being linked with a move away from the club throughout the summer.

Reports have suggested that West Brom could sell the defender in order to raise funds for new manager Alan Pardew to spend elsewhere.

City were heavily linked with the Northern Irishman throughout the summer but did not match the Baggies’ asking price.

Evans only has 18 months left on his current deal at West Brom and the club are expecting interest in his services throughout the January period.
