Everton linked with a move for Patrick van Aanholt
Everton are reportedly interested in signing Patrick van Aanholt from Crystal Palace in January.
According to a report from News Shopper, the Toffees want to land the Dutchman, who has fallen out of favour under Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park in recent times.
Van Aanholt has been displaced from the left-back spot by Jeffrey Schlupp, with Palace picking up in form of late.
However, with Everton lacking natural depth at left-back and with Leighton Baines not getting any younger, it appears Sam Allardyce would like to sign Van Aanholt in January.
The new Everton boss worked with the former Chelsea man during his time at Crystal Palace and is apparently hopeful of tying up a deal for the left-back.
Allardyce was the man who signed Van Aanholt last January, luring him away from his ex-club Sunderland in what was believed to be a deal worth £12 million.
The January transfer window is sure to be pivotal for Everton and it seems as though targets are already being lined up by their new boss.
