Everton are reportedly one of several teams to have been linked with a move for impressive Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay.
It’s claimed by German news outlet Bild (via Sport Witness) that the Toffees are keen to recruit the 24-year-old, who has been in good form for Hoffenheim throughout the season.
Demirbay is primarily an attacking player and one who is capable of acting as a playmaker, as he has shown by his displays in the Bundesliga this season. He has been hindered by injury problems, though, and was dealt another cruel blow at the weekend as he tore his ankle ligaments against Hertha Berlin.
The Hoffenheim number 10 represented Turkey’s national side at youth level, however, switched allegiances to the German national squad last year. He was a part of the Germany side that won the Confederations Cup, in which he chipped in with some good performances.
Everton face a host of competition to land Demirbay, though, and it’s also likely that they will need to stump up his release clause, claimed to be worth a hefty sum of €32m.
