Everton are reportedly eyeing up a move for Paulo Fonseca to replace Sam Allardyce this summer.
The Daily Mail reports that the Toffees will be judging Allardyce’s results between now and the end of the season before deciding on their next appointment.
Fonseca has earned plenty of admirers from his time with Shakhtar and has been linked with the Southampton job in the past.
He is out of contract in the summer so would be a cheap option for Everton.
Shakhtar currently sit four points clear at the top of the Ukrainian Premier League.
Pressure is mounting on those behind the scenes at Everton, in particularly Allardyce and head of recruitment Steve Walsh.
A lot has been expected of Everton since Walsh joined from Leicester but several big-money signings have failed to deliver at Goodison Park, with Allardyce already declaring the season as a ‘write off’.
