Everton to stage further negotiations with top managerial target
Everton will step up their efforts to appoint Marco Silva as their new manager by staging further negotiations with the former Watford boss and his agent in the coming week, according to the Daily Mail.
The Toffees have identified the promising Portuguese manager as their top target to replace Sam Allardyce at the helm ahead of next season.
It’s believed that there are currently some long-standing and unresolved issues surrounding Silva and his exit from Watford midway through last season, with these problems potentially holding up any deal for the Toffees.
However, Farhad Moshiri is understood to be confident that the appointment of Silva can be made without any wrongdoing taking place on Everton’s part.
The 40-year-old will, as per the report from the Daily Mail, sit down with his agent Carlos Goncalves and representatives from the new-look Everton board to discuss further details over becoming the new manager at Goodison Park ahead of next season.
Silva will be desperate to further enhance his reputation by flourishing at Everton as a move edges ever closer.
