New RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Ademola Lookman wants to move back to Germany this summer.
Speaking after being confirmed as the new Leipzig manager, Rangnick addressed rumours linking the English winger with a move back to the Bundesliga.
As per the club’s official Twitter account, Rangnick said:
I think 3 more signings is realistic. We’re still in talks over Ademola Lookman – we want him back and he wants to come.
Lookman spent the second half of last season on loan at Leipzig and impressed during his brief spell there, prompting rumours of a permanent move abroad.
The Bundesliga has recently become a hotbed for young British talent to go and experience first-team football and it has clearly left a lasting impression on Lookman.
Everton have already reportedly turned down two offers for the winger, who they value at close to £20 million, meaning Leipzig are going to have to cough up the money if they want to bring the player in permanently this summer.
However, Rangnick does not specify whether Leipzig are looking to land the player on loan or permanently.
