The latest on Everton’s rumoured interest in Malcom
Despite speculation suggesting otherwise, Everton are “not in the market” for Brazilian international Malcom, according to The Liverpool Echo.
Speculation over the last week from multiple sources suggested that the Blues were close to landing the signature of the Bordeaux winger.
Everton were apparently willing to pay up £25 million for the 21-year-old’s services. However, today’s Echo report suggests that this was not the case.
It seems as though Everton gaffer Marco Silva is interested in signing a winger before deadline day on August 9th. Despite this it appears his attention has been directed towards the nearly out of contract Danny Welbeck and Real Sociedad’s Adnan Januzaj.
With Everton currently in Austria for their pre-season tour, it seems as though the Toffees are in no hurry to complete business. However, it is believed Marco Silva has already set out his targets for this summer and will submit offers and enter negotiations closer to the impending deadline.
Last season, Malcom scored 12 goals in 35 appearances from out wide and has attracted interest from top European clubs such as Arsenal, Borussia Monchengladbach and Chelsea.
