Everton sealed their place in the third round of the League Cup with a 3-1 win over Championship side Rotherham on Wednesday night.
Glyfi Sigurdsson gave Everton the lead in the 28th minute when he converted Sandro’s cross-cum-shot from close range.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin then netted twice in the second half, either side of a consolation from goal from Rotherham’s Will Vaulks.
Here is how we rated Everton’s players after the game…
Maarten Stekelenburg: 5
Looked shaky and lacking confidence.
Jonjoe Kenny: 7
Impressed down the right, constantly up and down the pitch.
Mason Holgate: 6
Solid performance, nothing special.
Kurt Zouma: 6
Looked nervous at times, but made no glaring errors.
Lucas Digne: 8
Excellent down the left. Very promising debut for the Frenchman.
Sandro Ramirez: 7
Set up the first goal and looked bright throughout.
Tom Davies: 6
Average performance for the captain on the night.
Kieran Dowell: 5
Struggled to get into the game, prefers to be played higher up the pitch.
Glyfi Sigurdsson: 7
Took his goal well and looked dangerous.
Oumar Niasse: 4
Was poor. Touch was off, gave the ball away. Worked hard, as always, but wasn’t good enough.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin: 8
Scored two goals and was a constant threat going forward.
