Marco Silva has labelled any talk about Everton signing Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure as rumours.

Radio City News tweeted this quote from the Everton boss ahead of this weekend’s huge clash against bitter rivals, Liverpool:

Doucoure was named Watford’s Player of the Season in the previous campaign as he has continued to impress after joining the club back in 2016.

The French midfielder has made 70 appearances in the Premier League so far and has managed to score eight goals and create a further seven.

His impressive form has alerted the former Watford boss as Silva looks to secure a European spot this year with Everton.

Everton would potentially have to pay a hefty fee for the midfielder as he only signed a new five-year contract at Vicarage Road in January this year.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the player in recent months.
