Mason Holgate could be loaned out by Everton in the January transfer window, according to a report from the Mirror.
The young defender has been utilised on a sporadic basis by manager Marco Silva this season and has found regular opportunities in the first team hard to come by.
This has prompted speculation surrounding Holgate’s immediate future on Merseyside, with recent reports indicating that he spend the second half of the campaign elsewhere.
Holgate has struggled to emerge as a key man for Silva following his summer appointment. The versatile defender finds himself behind Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and loanee Kurt Zouma in the pecking order of centre-backs.
The England Under-21 international is set to be high in demand when the January transfer window does come around, however.
The Mirror claim that Everton have already received attention from clubs in the top two tiers of English football regarding a potential loan move.
Holgate, 22, has started four Premier League matches this season.
