Bristol City have reportedly ended their interest in Everton midfielder Joe Williams.
The Liverpool Echo reported earlier this week that the Toffees academy graduate, who is currently on loan with Bolton Wanderers, would not be sold at any price.
Despite this, the Bolton News reported earlier this week that Bristol had actually had a £1million bid accepted, although no other reports had since confirmed that.
Now, the Bristol Post have suggested that while City are interested in a deal, they could be set to move on to other targets – in part due to Williams’ recent injury, and in part due to new signing Kasey Palmer.
Williams picked up a thigh tendon injury last week and is expected to be out for up to a month, while City’s signing of Palmer on loan from Chelsea may have rendered the move unimportant, with that position having now been strengthened.
According to the Echo’s report, Williams is set to join Everton’s first-team during pre-season next campaign.
