Everyone loves a free transfer and sometimes, the free transfers end up being the best piece of business that a club does during a transfer window.
Everton manager Marco Silva will undoubtedly be looking to strengthen his side in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, he doesn’t necessarily have to splash the cash on new players because there are some good players who could be available for free at the end of the season.
Below, we’ve had a look at some of the players that the Toffees could sign for free.
Gary Cahill
The Chelse centre-back has fallen heavily out of favour at Stamford Bridge and with Kurt Zouma only on a loan deal, bringing Cahill in for free would be a brilliant move for Everton.
Olivier Giroud
Everton are crying out for a complete centre-forward – Giroud is exactly that. He’s frustrated with his lack of game time at Chelsea and his contract expires at the end of June. He will bring goals to Goodison Park.
Daniel Sturridge
Another striker that could do the business for Everton. He’s not getting enough playing time for Liverpool, so a move across the city wouldn’t be the worst decision in the world.
Adrian
The West Ham goalkeeper was one of the best in the league a few seasons ago. He’s lost his starting spot but he could be a great backup for Jordan Pickford at Goodison Park.
Antonio Valencia
The Manchester United right-back looks set to leave the club at the end of this season and his experience could be valuable for the Toffees. Valencia would provide some strong cover for Seamus Coleman.
Juan Mata
The playmaker’s deal at Old Trafford is also on the verge of expiring. If Everton want to push into the top six next season, then signing a player of Mata’s quality would be a big boost.
Danny Welbeck
The Arsenal striker is still out with a long-term injury and his contract is very nearly expired. When he returns, he’ll want to prove himself and Everton could be the perfect place for him to show his ability.
