Everton missed a golden opportunity to move up to seventh in the Premier League on Saturday as they fell to a woeful 2-0 defeat to already-relegated Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Tom Cairney’s early second-half goal set the tone before Ryan Babel piled on the misery on a bitter-sweet day for the hosts alongside the River Thames.
The defeat, which was just Fulham’s fifth win of the season, ends a good spell of form which consisted of three wins against Chelsea, West Ham United and Arsenal without conceding a single goal.
Everton will be hoping to pick up form again as we enter the closing stages of the run-in as they look to bring Europa League football back to Goodison Park.
It was a disappointing day which dealt a blow to the Toffees’ European aspirations, but who have you selected as your Man of the Match?
We asked you to vote for your top performers in a duel following full-time on Saturday afternoon and now it’s time to look at the results!
5 - Jordan Pickford
The Everton no.1 starts the countdown with 47% of your votes.
4 - Andre Gomes
It was a tough day on the office for Gomes but you’ve given him 57% of the vote.
3 -Lucas Digne
One of Everton’s brighter players down the left wing and has 66% of the vote.
2 - Idrissa Gueye
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Gueye secure a big move this summer after another determined performance. He’s second with 72%.
1 - Bernard
Bernard is your Man of the Match with 84% of the votes. The Brazilian looked lively but failed to create anything substantial on an all-around forgettable day. He’s improved a lot throughout his debut season in England though and will be a big asset next term.
