Everton are reportedly pushing hard to land Lyon forward Bertrand Traore this summer –  but would he be the right signing?

The Toffees were linked with the 23-year old when he playing for Chelsea, and he has only improved since then.

As reported by Yahoo Sport France, manager Marco Silva has been impressed with the Burkina Faso international this season, and is looking to accelerate the club’s pursuit of the player.

For me, Traore would be a very smart acquisition by Marcel Brands and Co.

Everton relied heavily on Richarlison and Gyfli Sigurdsson for goals this season, and wide players Bernard and Theo Walcott didn’t contribute much directly on that front, although the former did have a fantastic debut season regardless.

In that regard, it would be great to sign a player who can contribute from out wide, not to mention how Traore is versatile and can play anywhere across the front line.

Farhad Moshiri is prepared to back Silva in the transfer market, and Traore could be a smart way to spend some of that money.
