Everton have secured the long-term future of academy midfielder Isaac Price, after he signed a professional contract until June 2023.

The Blues’ official website confirmed the news, adding that the 17-year old has already spent a decade with the Toffees.

Price is currently plying his trade with the youth setup, notably playing for the Everton Under-18 side. His team are unbeaten and sit third in this season’s junior Premier League, taking seven points from three matches. That successful run also includes a draw at reigning league champions Manchester City.

He is also eligible to represent either England or Northern Ireland at international level.

While such decisions may be several years away, Price can certainly take confidence in seeing academy graduates now involved in the first-team squad. Fellow midfielder Tom Davies, plus defender Jonjoe Kenny, are just two of many to make the step up.

Whatever the future for Isaac Price, a managerial mastermind like Carlo Ancelotti will be keeping a keen eye on him for future senior fixtures, as he bids to bring long-term success and silverware to Goodison Park.
